Iran has stated that the hostility of US President Donald Trump’s administration towards Iran and Muslims has been exposed. Iran made this statement in response to Trump’s decision to ban citizens from 12 countries from entering the US. Many of these countries have large Muslim populations, including Iran. “Barring Iranian citizens from entering the US based on their citizenship and religion is a decision that reveals the hostility of the US administration’s leaders towards Muslims, and it is a measure that violates international laws,” said a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
Trump’s order bans citizens from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen from entering the US. Trump said it was a measure taken to prevent terrorists from these countries from entering the US. Trump’s administration, which ruled from 2017 to 2021, had also blocked citizens from seven countries from entering the US. Those also included countries with large Muslim populations.
Trump is the biggest supporter of Zionist Israel. He believes that Iran is the biggest threat to Israel’s existence and the safety and security of Jews. Trump has been working to influence Iran’s nuclear program, which is considered a major power in the Middle East. As part of efforts to control this program, the US is currently engaged in important negotiations with Iran. The main objective of these negotiations is to hinder Iran’s uranium enrichment work needed to produce a nuclear weapon. Since taking office for a second term on January 20, Trump has been taking additional measures against Iran and tightening existing measures. On June 7, the US took new measures against Iran.
These measures were taken against 30 Iranian entities, including individuals and companies. The US said these were entities that help the Iranian government conduct financial transactions through the international financial system. The US also suspects that the Iranian government is using these entities to commit money laundering crimes. “The new measures taken by the US are illegal and violate international laws, and they are evidence of the hostility the US harbors towards the Iranian people,” said Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, condemning the new US measures.
Trump has threatened to attack Iran if negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program fail or if the US fails to achieve its desired goals. He said the attacks would target facilities established under Iran’s nuclear program. Iran denies allegations by the US and Western powers that it is working to produce a nuclear weapon.
Western powers also reached an agreement with Iran in 2015 to control Iran’s nuclear program. However, Trump stopped implementing that agreement during his first term. That was in 2018. After canceling the agreement, Trump tightened sanctions against Iran. Dissatisfied with this, Iran has expanded its uranium enrichment activities.
