
Minister of Maldivian Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim, has announced that it has been decided to extend invitations to all individuals who have served as President of the Republic to participate in the official ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of Maldivian independence. Speaking to PSM News, Minister Adam Naseer Ibrahim stated that it has been decided to extend invitations to all former Presidents and Vice Presidents to attend the official Independence Day ceremony. He also mentioned that recognizing those who have served the nation is a policy of the government, and that showing due respect and honor to former Presidents and Vice Presidents is one example of the moral change that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu wishes to bring to the country.
“Independence Day is a day for the entire the entire Maldivian nation. This government’s policy is to recognize national service. To recognize those who have served the country. Therefore, showing due respect and honor to former Presidents and Vice Presidents who have served this nation is one example of the moral change that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu wishes to bring to this country,” the Minister said. In addition to the official Independence Day ceremony, MACL has also decided to extend invitations to all former Presidents to participate in the opening ceremony of the new terminal at Velana International Airport, which is scheduled to be held on Independence Day.
