
The Elections Commission has announced the placement of 588 ballot boxes for the upcoming elections scheduled for next month. The majority of these polling stations will be located within the Greater Male’ region, with 180 boxes in Male’, 51 in Hulhumale’, and 9 in Villimale’. Among the atolls, Addu City will feature the highest concentration of ballot boxes. For this election, the Commission has decided not to establish polling stations abroad or on industrial islands; however, voting arrangements will be made at 21 resorts and 5 detention facilities. Within the capital, Henveiru Stadium and Aminiya School have been designated as the primary sites with the largest number of ballot boxes.
A total of 294,876 citizens are eligible to cast their votes in this election. The Elections Commission encourages all eligible voters to verify their designated polling stations well in advance. Information regarding specific ballot box locations can be obtained by sending the National Identity Card number via SMS to 1414.
