Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced that they will be displaying their floats in Hulhumalé today, following the great reception they received for the floats prepared for the 60th Independence Day of the Maldives.
HDC stated that the floats prepared for July 26th were displayed on the streets of Hulhumalé and received a very positive response. They had planned to display the floats again on the night of July 28th, but the event was cancelled due to bad weather.
As a result, the event has been rescheduled for today, with displays from 16:30 to 18:00 in the afternoon and from 20:00 to 22:00 at night. The floats will be displayed at Hulhumalé Central Park.
HDC prepared the Independence Day floats based on a ‘Minecraft’ theme, showcasing various scenes from Hulhumalé. The floats, depicting different landmarks of Hulhumalé, were created entirely by HDC employees over a two-week period.
HDC said this activity was part of their effort to support the government’s initiatives to celebrate the 60th Independence Day. The floats have been particularly popular among children who came to see them.
The company’s aim is to continue supporting such government initiatives in the future and to celebrate such occasions in a grand manner with the participation of Hulhumalé residents.
