Maziya Sports and Recreation Club extended their lead at the top of the Dhivehi Premier League standings to nine points after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory against United Victory (UV).
Maziya took the lead during the first half through a goal by Hamza Mohamed. Their advantage was further consolidated in the 82nd minute when Luiz Paulo Almeida scored the team’s second goal. United Victory managed to pull one back during stoppage time with a goal from Mohamed Samir, but it was not enough to challenge Maziya’s lead.
With this result, Maziya remains firmly at the summit of the league table, having secured 37 points from 13 matches.
