Two important players of Maziya Sports and Recreation, Hassan Raif Ahmed (Hanna) and Ahmed Irufaan (Irey), have also set their course towards New Radiant Sports Club. Hanna began playing for Maziya from 2023. He previously played for Eagles. Irufaan is a player who transferred from Valencia to Maziya and has played for that club for many years. As both these players are close to playing for New Radiant, their agreement with Maziya has expired. And Maziya’s efforts to renew the agreement have so far been unsuccessful.
As these two players are expected to don the New Radiant jersey, national forward Ali Fasir (Sentey), who played for Maziya, signed to play for New Radiant last night. After Super United Sports (SUS) decided not to compete in the First Division, New Radiant, which was expected to secure that spot, began recruiting skilled players after being in the Second Division for four years. New Radiant has appointed Ali Suzain, a legend from their most competitive rival Victory Sports Club, as their coach. He last worked in the position of the Maldives national coach.
