New Radiant Sports Club clinched a 2-0 victory against TC Sports Club in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League, thanks to two decisive goals scored during stoppage time.

This result propels New Radiant to third place in the league standings with 27 points. Consequently, Buru Sports Club, who held the third spot prior to this fixture, has slipped to fourth place with 26 points.

The encounter at the National Football Stadium saw a relatively quiet first half, with both teams struggling to create significant goal-scoring opportunities. In the 33rd minute, Ali Fasir set up Liberian midfielder Abdulla Bility inside the box, but his effort sailed over the crossbar.

Late in the first half, the New Radiant goalkeeper successfully intercepted a coordinated attack by TC’s Ghanaian duo. The intensity picked up in the second half, with TC’s goalkeeper making a crucial save to deny a strike from New Radiant’s Nigerian forward, Alhaji Gero.

Haji came close to breaking the deadlock in the 85th minute, but his powerful shot from inside the penalty area whistled narrowly wide of the post.

The breakthrough finally came in stoppage time when Haji capitalised on a well-placed cross from Ali Ashfaq, slotting the ball into the net from close range. Haji then doubled the lead shortly after, sealing the win with a clinical header following an accurate cross from Brazilian teammate De Silva.
