Manchester City’s forward Erling Haaland is now at the level of the world’s two best players, according to his coach Pep Guardiola. The world’s two best players are Argentina’s captain Lionel Messi and Portugal’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo. Many people consider the exceptional performances of Messi at Barcelona and Ronaldo at Manchester United and Real Madrid to be wonders of the world. Guardiola stated that with 11 goals in the Premier League matches played so far, Haaland is scoring goals at the same rate as Messi and Ronaldo did during their peak years.

“He has scored 98 goals in 107 matches. Looking at his numbers, they’re different in every way. It’s even hard to believe his statistics are so far ahead,” said Guardiola. Guardiola, who coached Messi at Barcelona, said the difference with Messi and Ronaldo was that they scored one or two goals in every match, and now Haaland has also started doing the same. “The difference with those two players is that they maintained that level consistently for about 15 years. Look at Messi now. He continues to score goals every day in the American league. Ronaldo is also doing the same in Saudi Arabia. I would say Haaland has now started doing that here. I’ve said before that it’s a joy to coach him,” Guardiola said.

Haaland now needs just two more goals to reach 100 goals for Manchester City. He has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, while his closest competitors have scored only 6 goals. If he completes 100 goals in the upcoming match, Haaland will become the player who reached 100 Premier League goals in the fastest time.
