The groundbreaking ceremony for the Visitor Center, being constructed as part of the ongoing Kendhikulhudhoo Nature Park development project in Noonu Atoll, has been held. The foundation stone for this center was laid today afternoon at a ceremony in Kendhikulhudhoo, during the ongoing visit of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to Noonu Atoll. Accompanying the President at the ceremony were several state ministers and heads of companies.

At this ceremony, the foundation stone for the Kendhikulhudhoo Visitor Center was laid by the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Thariq Ibrahim. The center has been named “The Mangrove Center.” The Nature Park project being developed in Kendhikulhudhoo is a collaborative effort between the Kendhikulhudhoo Council and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment. This project is being undertaken to reinforce the policy of establishing a nature park in every atoll, as included in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s presidential pledges, and to support efforts to expand eco-tourism in the island.

Furthermore, work on developing the routes within the Visitor Center and the Nature Park will also be carried out. The Kendhikulhudhoo Council has highlighted this as a very important project for the promotion of local tourism in Kendhikulhudhoo, especially for promoting environmentally friendly tourism and showcasing the island’s natural richness.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, during his meeting with the people of Kendhikulhudhoo, assured them that the government would provide full assistance and cooperation for the Council’s work.
