
Eleven institutions participated in the float parade held on the occasion of Independence Day.
While government companies and various agencies participated with floats, there was a great reception for the floats showcasing the services provided by these institutions, changes with time, achievements, and visions for the future.
Many children and members of the public came out to the streets of Male’ to watch the float parade. The float parade event received a great reception.

The float parade for the 60th Independence Day celebrations began from the Social Center area in Male’. Traveling east on Majeedhee Magu, passing through the Artificial Beach area on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, the parade concluded in the area including the bridge in Henveiru.
In this event, 11 companies displayed floats prepared with different designs. Among the floats participating in this parade were various floats that attracted public attention. This year’s parade also featured different floats that would interest children.

While the float parade received a great public reception, the event included participation from Housing Development Corporation, STO, MTCC, MPL, STELCO, RDC, Fenaka, Customs, Maldives National Defence Force, and Maldives Police Service.
