The residents of Gaza City are facing increased anxiety and fear as Israel has announced plans for a ‘tsunami-like attack’ to bring Gaza City under Israeli control. Before Israel began its aggression against Gaza on October 7, 2023, over a million people were living in Gaza City. Israel’s extremist Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had previously declared intentions to colonize all of Gaza and launch a powerful military operation in Gaza City. Subsequently, on September 8, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned of a ‘tsunami-like attack’ on Gaza if Hamas, the governing authority in Gaza, did not release the Israeli hostages under their custody.
Israel continues to drop leaflets over Gaza City by air, threatening to force residents to evacuate the area. However, Gazans believe there are no other safe areas in the city. As a result, many people have refused to leave the area. Nevertheless, some people said they were compelled to head towards southern Gaza due to the threats.
Since Israel began its attacks on Gaza, they have killed over 64,000 people in Gaza so far. The majority of these are innocent innocent women and children. While the entire Gaza has been devastated by the attacks, Israel continues to restrict food supplies to Gaza, deliberately starving the city’s residents.”
