Former famous defender Gary Neville has been banned from entering the stadium for Nottingham Forest’s home match against Chelsea in the last game of the English Premier League. Gary Neville, a former Manchester United and England defender who currently works for Sky Sports, said that Sky Sports had informed him that Nottingham had not provided the accreditation pass needed to enter the stadium.

“I’ve been informed by the broadcaster that I won’t receive accreditation to enter the stadium to work as a commentator for the match against Chelsea. There’s nothing more I can do about this. I won’t be participating in the coverage of that match,” 50-year-old Gary Neville posted on his Instagram. According to media reports, Nottingham Forest decided not to give Gary Neville an accreditation pass due to his criticism of club owner Evangelos Marinakis entering the field and talking to the coach after Nottingham’s 2-2 draw against Leicester City in the league. Regarding this incident, Gary Neville said on his X account that it was a low-class act from Evangelos, and that coach Nuno Espírito Santo should talk to him about it. He also said that it was not fair to the club’s players and supporters.

However, Forest has stated that there was no disagreement between coach Nuno Espírito Santo and Evangelos, and that he was talking about the issue of keeping forward Taiwo Awoniyi on the field even after he was injured. Neville further said that he would criticize when criticism is due, and that he had praised and flattered them over the past 14 years. However, he also said that he didn’t expect something like this to happen. Nottingham Forest has a chance to secure a Champions League spot for the upcoming season if they win tomorrow’s match against Chelsea. While accreditation for Premier League matches is a matter for the clubs, the Premier League has not commented on this issue.
