Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) has officially commenced operations of its new fuel stations in Hanimaadhoo and Ihavandhoo. This initiative is part of an ongoing collaborative effort between the government, State Trading Organization (STO), and FSM to ensure the nationwide availability of fuel at affordable rates. Launched in November 2024, the project entails the installation of fuel skids in 18 islands across the Maldives, specifically designed to provide cost-effective fuel solutions for fishermen and the general public.
Following the inaugural launch of the first fuel skid in R. Dhuvaafaru last December, services have now expanded to H.A. Ihavandhoo and H.Dhu. Hanimaadhoo upon the successful completion of their respective facilities. This expansion allows local residents to access fuel at standard market rates within their own islands, while also ensuring the provision of services in a safe and regulated manner.
Regarding the progress of the fuel skid project aimed at supporting the fishing community, approximately 78% of the overall work has been completed. STO anticipates that the entire project will be finalized within the next three months.
In addition to the Greater Male’ area, FSM currently provides services in Addu City (Gan and Hulhumeedhoo), Fuvahmulah, Kooddoo, Thinadhoo, and Felivaru.
