The construction of the Thulusdhoo Police Station in South Maalhosmadulu Atoll has officially begun. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Thulusdhoo Police Station took place during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s current tour of the islands in Baa Atoll. The President participated in the official ceremony marking the commencement of construction for the Thulusdhoo Police Station. At this ceremony, the Minister of Home Affairs and Culture Ali Ihsaan, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, and Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation Mohamed Najah officially inaugurated the construction work. Additionally, the President of Thulusdhoo Council, Ibrahim Aadil, was in attendance.
The police station being developed in Thulusdhoo is a project entrusted to Fenaka Corporation. This project includes the construction of the police station, as well as jail cells and a vehicle shed. This initiative is part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy to expand police services to all inhabited islands of the Maldives.

The government’s goal is to establish police stations and Maldives Police Service presence on every island within the next two years. Accordingly, work has already begun this year to establish stations in many islands that currently lack police facilities. The government believes that establishing police services on every island will greatly contribute to their efforts in building a peaceful society.
