
The construction work for the police station in Feridhu, North Ari Atoll, has officially begun. The commencement of the project was marked during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing tour of the northern Ari Atoll islands. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu participated in the ceremony held to officially inaugurate the construction of the Feridhu Police Station. At this ceremony, the Minister of Home Affairs, Arts and Culture, Ali Ihsaan, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen, and the Managing Director of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Ahmed Saudee, officially launched the construction work. Additionally, the President of the Feridhu Council was also present at the event.
The development of the police station in Feridhu has been entrusted to MTCC. This project is part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy to expand police services to all inhabited islands in the Maldives.
The government aims to establish police stations and Maldives Police Service presence on every island within the next two years. As part of this initiative, work has already begun this year to establish police stations on many islands that currently lack them.
