Five foreigners apprehended from Heenaamaage parking area

Five foreigners who were working in the Maldives without valid visas have been taken into Immigration custody. Immigration has further strengthened its raid operations to find foreigners staying illegally in the country. Last night, foreigners in the Heenaamaage parking area in Male’ were searched and inspected, and five foreigners working without valid visas were taken into Immigration custody.

Compared to before, Immigration has stated that the number of foreigners working with valid visas is increasing. In line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge, a three-year plan has been developed to find a permanent solution to the issue of illegal foreigners in the Maldives. According to the Minister of Home Affairs, Ali Ihsan, this work will be successfully completed in April 2027.

These efforts are important steps towards strengthening the Maldives’ immigration system and solving the problem of illegal foreigners. These efforts will bring positive changes to the country’s job market and social security.

Immigration continues to conduct special operations in various parts of the Maldives. While many foreigners have been apprehended in these operations, as part of Immigration’s efforts to monitor foreigners staying legally in the Maldives, officers are now also conducting observation work in public places in Male’.
