Addu City has welcomed its first cruise liner of the year, the “MS Island Sky.” According to Maldives Immigration, the vessel arrived with 84 tourists and 81 crew members, all of whom have been granted immigration clearance. The cruise liner docked at Hithadhoo, Addu City, arriving from the Seychelles. Immigration further noted that in addition to Addu, the vessel is scheduled to visit Uligamu in Haa Alif Atoll and Makunudhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The tourists arriving on this cruise liner are predominantly European, with a significant majority being British nationals.

This marks the third cruise liner to visit the Maldives this year. The previous two vessels docked in Malé, bringing a combined total of 1,056 tourists. Cruise liners regularly visit the Maldives, offering passengers the opportunity to explore various islands across the archipelago. According to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, the Maldives has welcomed over 242,000 tourists so far this year, representing a 4% increase compared to the same period last year.
