Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has begun preparations to open up commercial spaces in the towers of 4000 housing units being constructed in the second phase of Hulhumale’.
FDC said that they have decided to allocate 127 commercial units in the 32 towers of the 4000 housing units. These spaces will be available for retail shops, cafes, restaurants, clinics, and offices, according to FDC.
FDC stated that the opportunity to apply for these spaces will be opened next week.
In these towers, which are expected to house 28,400 people, FDC has decided to allocate spaces ranging from 580 to 6200 square feet for commercial use. The commercial rates are set at 40-45 rufiyaa per square foot, according to FDC.
As a total of 32 towers are being built in this project, FDC prioritizes providing essential and other necessary services within the area for the residents. Therefore, FDC said that these services and businesses will be distributed across 6 zones, prioritizing walking distances.
FDC stated that the main purpose of developing the commercial allocation plan is to ensure that basic services are available before people start living in the towers.
