Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has revealed that they have made agreements with 232 recipients of the 4,000 flats being constructed in Hulhumalé.
FDC will handle all transactions required for signing agreements with flat recipients.
The corporation stated that they have accelerated the process of signing agreements with recipients under the Gedhoruveriya (Homeowner) Scheme, and so far, rental agreements have been made with 232 parties.
FDC said they are working to further speed up the agreement signing process and increase the number of agreements signed per day. Given the current pace, they expect the rate of agreement completion to increase in the coming days.
To date, 252 parties have been scheduled for agreement signing, out of which 232 have already completed their rental agreements.
Previously, FDC had stated that the Housing Ministry had sent them 2,665 names for flat agreements. Therefore, FDC is working on completing agreements with the remaining recipients.
The construction of these flats began during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration. The project, overseen by FDC, is contracted to two Indian companies: JMC Projects Limited and National Buildings Construction Company (NBCC).
Of the 32 towers in this project, NBCC is constructing 16 towers, while JMC is handling the other 16. Each company is working on 2,000 flats. The towers include 2,800 three-bedroom apartments and 1,200 two-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom apartments are 650 square feet, while the three-bedroom ones are 900 square feet.
