The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has decided to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 7th of March.
This marks the first congress to be held by the association since the elective congress took place in June last year. The primary agenda for this year’s congress includes the approval of the annual budget, the annual report, and the audit report.
The current President of FAM is Ahmed Thariq (Tom). Since assuming office last June, he has been implementing significant reforms to strengthen the administration of Maldivian football. As part of these efforts, István Urbányi of Hungary has been appointed as the Head Coach of the National Football Team, while also serving as the association’s Technical Director.
Furthermore, the FAM has decided to void several agreements made by the previous management regarding the sale of land and the leasing of buildings, as these transactions were conducted without the necessary authorizations.
