The CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals, Abdul Razzaq Haleem, has stated that no aspect of patient care has been disrupted despite the power outage. Yesterday around 12:30 PM, the entire Malé region experienced a power outage. Speaking to PSM News, Abdul Razzaq Haleem, CEO of Malé City Group of Hospitals, said that all facilities within the Malé City Group of Hospitals, except for Villingili Hospital, lost power. He added that as soon as the power went out, backup generators were immediately activated to provide electricity.

Abdul Razzaq said that although IGMH and Dharumavantha Hospital have now started receiving power, it is not stable. Therefore, backup generators are being used to provide electricity to the areas that need it most, according to Abdul Razzaq Haleem. He stated that there has been no disruption to any necessary medical care due to the power situation. He also noted that since generators are being used to provide electricity, there is no concern about power interruptions.

STELCO has begun restoring power to various areas of Malé. Although power has been restored, many households report that it is not stable.
