The government has proactively implemented robust measures to stabilize food prices and prevent inflation in anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan. As part of these efforts, the list of essential food commodities has been expanded from 23 to 26 items, ensuring their availability at affordable rates through the State Trading Organization (STO).
Additionally, the government is closely monitoring the pricing of over 160 commonly used household items, supported by an extensive distribution network designed to ensure a seamless supply of goods to the atolls. These strategic policies aim to maintain market stability and provide financial relief to citizens throughout the month.
