
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that engineers play a very important role in bringing real color to the future hopes of Maldivians. He made this statement in a social media post shared in connection with this year’s Engineers’ Day.
On the occasion of Engineers’ Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended his congratulations to the hardworking Maldivian engineers who have worked and continue to work in various fields. The President said that engineering is not just a job. He described it as a valuable service rendered for nation-building and humanity.
Highlighting that it is a special skill that requires the use of knowledge, patience, and foresight, the President emphasized the importance of the field. He stated that engineers play a very significant role in bringing real color to the future hopes of Maldivians.
The President decided to celebrate Engineers’ Day on June 15 this year. He set August 30 as Maldives Engineers’ Day, linking it to the inauguration date of the Sinamale’ Bridge, considered the largest infrastructure development project in the country’s history to date. The President has also decided that all activities related to the celebration of Engineers’ Day will be carried out by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.
