The State Electric Company (STELCO) has successfully completed the electrification of the housing units developed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) in Hulhumalé Phase II. STELCO confirmed that all necessary connections and testing procedures have been finalized. According to the utility provider, the scope of work included laying cables to the main distribution panels, establishing connections, and completing all technical requirements to ensure electricity is available from the main panels to individual apartments.
While power has now been connected to the 4,000 housing units, the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) had already completed the installation of water and sewerage systems earlier this year. With this milestone, all essential utility services are now fully established at the towers.
FDC is currently in the process of handing over keys to the flat owners, with the aim of completing this process by the end of the month. Residents who have received their keys have already begun moving in, with some furnishing their apartments and preparing to relocate ahead of the month of Ramadan. As residents move into the area, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is working on developing the surrounding roads and infrastructure. Additionally, efforts are underway to establish further essential services to cater to the needs of the families moving into the neighborhood.
The 4,000 housing units in Hulhumalé Phase II are divided into two distinct projects: “Amaan Udhares” (comprising 6 towers) and “Amaan Dhodhi” (comprising 6 towers). These housing units consist of both two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments.
