MTCC has announced that dredging work is currently underway as part of the B. Eydhafushi Swimming Area Development Project. The contract for this project was awarded to MTCC on May 27, 2025.
MTCC further elaborated that the scope of this project includes the excavation of 15,914 cubic meters from within the lagoon to establish a designated swimming area, the installation of a 160-meter geobag revetment, the construction of a 60-meter rock boulder breakwater, and the erection of a 70-meter groynes. The company confirmed that this project, with a total value of MVR 4.63 million, is scheduled for completion within 150 days.
