
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that a BML Dollar ATM will be installed in Vilimale next year. He made this announcement while speaking at a meeting held to meet with the residents of Vilimale. The government has decided to install Dollar ATMs in every island with a population exceeding 2000 people. In this regard, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that Dollar ATMs will be installed in an additional 70 islands by March of next year.
Addressing the residents of Vilimale, the President said that the government is working to resolve their concerns. He also stated that efforts are underway to fulfill the pledges he made. The President remarked that even small actions can benefit the public, and installing a Dollar ATM is one such project. “I recently announced that US Dollar ATMs will be installed in 70 islands. I mentioned that this would be by the end of March next year. One of these ATMs has been decided to be placed in Vilimale,” said President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Under the government-led nationwide project to install ATMs, BML ATMs have so far been installed in all inhabited islands. The President stated that the decision to expand this initiative by installing Dollar ATMs in islands is to provide facilities for businesses operating in the tourism sector. The government has decided to install Dollar ATMs in islands with the most guesthouses, urban centers, and all islands with a population exceeding 2000 people.
