Discussions held with Algeria to enhance cooperation in trade and investment

Discussions have been held with the new Algerian Ambassador to the Maldives, Abdenour Khellafi, to enhance cooperation in the areas of trade and investment. The new Ambassador of Algeria to the Maldives, Abdenour Khelldenour Khellafi, presented his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The ceremony took place yesterday morning at the President’s Office. From the Republic Square to the President’s Office, the Ambassador was escorted in an official motorcade with honors, accompanied by a ceremonial band and a parade.

Upon presenting his credentials to the President, the President congratulated the new Ambassador and welcomed him to the Maldives. After the presentation of credentials, the President met with the Ambassador and discussed enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, as well as strengthening the relationship between the people of both countries and matters of mutual interest.

They also discussed opportunities for Islamic scholars and Quran reciters to receive training in Algeria. Additionally, the Algerian Ambassador praised President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s robust policy in advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Algeria were established on March 8, 1988.
