President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Manadhoo Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and senior officials from some institutions in the island to discuss matters of utmost importance to the residents. This meeting took place at Manadhoo Ashvaru Hall. During the meeting, the Council shared with the President their concerns regarding improving and expanding the quality of health services available on the island, specifically through the provision of physiotherapy services, as well as access to a psychologist and a speech therapist. They also raised concerns about the unfinished aspects of the island’s harbor project.

Furthermore, the Council requested solutions for the harbor entrance breakwater, repairs to the steps of the jetty to facilitate patient boarding and disembarking, and the installation of planks for easier access to and from the outer jetty constructed in the lagoon. The Council also highlighted the importance of developing sports facilities targeting youth, resolving delays in establishing a police station, and addressing difficulties in road usage by implementing a sewerage system to pave the way for road construction.

During the meeting, the President assured that he would look into the matters highlighted by the Council. He also shared updates on the ongoing projects in the island through the ministers and heads of state-owned companies who participated in the meeting.
