In response to flight cancellations resulting from the closure of airspace due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has established dedicated service counters at the Domestic Terminal of Velana International Airport to assist affected passengers. As part of this initiative, a “Disruption Management Centre” has been created to provide essential support to a large number of travelers.
While more than 5,000 passengers have faced difficulties due to these flight cancellations, MACL is working closely with relevant government authorities and airlines to resolve these issues. The company further assures that despite the situation, the airport’s general operations remain unaffected and continue as scheduled.
