As a measure to implement the report of the Special Commission of the President that investigated the incident that occurred in Male’ on April 18, Dawood Ahmed, who held the position of Under Secretary for Digital Strategy at the President’s Office, has been dismissed from his position. Revealing this, the Chief Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Miuvaan Shareef, said that Dawood Ahmed was dismissed from his position as part of the measures being taken to implement the report of the Special Commission established by the President, because the commission’s report had noted that he had given a false statement to the investigation.

While Dawood Ahmed has been dismissed from his position, he had been suspended from his position without pay from April 24 in connection with the incident of Yamn’s fall. And in connection with his submission of resignation from the position of Chairman and the committee of the “National Youth Advisory Committee”, the President had dismissed him from that committee on the same day. The report of the Special Commission established to investigate the case of a Maldivian youth found fallen on the roof of a house in Male’ on April 18, 2025, was made public on the official website of the President’s Office after the President decided to make it public as it was received by the President on Tuesday.

The President established a Special Commission on April 27, 2025, to investigate the case of a Maldivian youth found fallen on the roof of a house in Male’ on April 18, 2025, to conduct an independent, impartial and credible investigation in connection with that case, to find the truth of that incident, to examine what work has been done so far by the relevant institutions in connection with that incident, to take necessary measures in connection with that case, to investigate how the matter transpired with fairness and justice, and to provide advice.

The Commission completed the work assigned to it and submitted the report to the President within 52 days of the establishment of the Commission. This is the first time that the work of such a commission has been completed and a report submitted in such a short period of time.
