Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen has affirmed that the authorities will seek the harshest legal penalties for individuals who involve children in criminal activities. While providing assurance that cases involving the exploitation and exposure of minors to crime will be investigated with utmost seriousness, the CP emphasized that ensuring the safety and protection of children is a collective responsibility of both the state and the entire community.
In this regard, police recently arrested two individuals and remanded them for 15 days in connection with a case where a 16-year-old was used to transport narcotics. The Commissioner noted that the police are prioritizing enforcement actions against those who groom or coerce children into committing offenses. Furthermore, he urged the public to cooperate by reporting any information regarding such matters to the police.
