
Construction work has begun on a new 30-bed hospital in HDh. Hanimaadhoo. The official commencement of the Hanimaadhoo Hospital project was inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his ongoing tour of the southern Thiladhunmathi atoll. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu participated in the ceremony held in Hanimaadhoo today to officially launch the construction work of the hospital. At this ceremony, the Minister of Health, Abdullah Nazim, initiated the practical work of the new hospital building. He was accompanied by the Managing Director of Road Development Corporation, Ibrahim Nazeem, and the President of the Hanimaadhoo Council.
During his meeting with the people of Hanimaadhoo, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that upon completion of the 30-bed hospital being developed in Hanimaadhoo, the island’s health sector services will be strengthened. He also mentioned that efforts are underway to expand the services of the existing health center even before that. The President said that arrangements will be made to provide dialysis services, a pediatric specialist, and a gynecologist at the Hanimaadhoo Health Center before the end of this year.

The government continues to undertake numerous efforts to strengthen the country’s health system. This includes upgrading existing hospitals and health centers, as well as constructing new ones. Enabling people to receive all medical treatments within their island or atoll is a crucial objective of the government.
