
The construction of a new police station has begun in Dhigurah, South Ari Atoll. The commencement of this project was incorporated into President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s current tour of Alif Dhaalu Atoll. The President participated in the ceremony marking the start of construction. The foundation stone for the police station in Dhigurah was laid by the Minister of Home Affairs and Professional Development, Ali Ihsan. The project is being carried out by the Road Development Corporation.
It is the government’s aim to establish police stations and provide police services in all islands of the Maldives within two years. As of the end of last September, police services have been initiated in all inhabited islands of four atolls in the Maldives. The government believes that the completion of police stations in all islands of the Maldives will greatly assist in their efforts to build a peaceful society.
