Construction of 75 housing units in Dhidhdhoo nears completion

A significant portion of the construction work on 75 housing units in Ha. Dhidhdhoo has been completed. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Limited (MTCC), which is carrying out the project, stated that over 83% of the work has now been finished. MTCC reporte been finished. MTCC reported that 83.2% of the housing units’ construction in the reclaimed area of Dhidhdhoo has been completed, while the Ministry of Housing had previously announced that the entire project would be finished within this year.

The project, which was awarded to SJ Construction for 120 million rufiyaa, involves the construction of two-story row houses. Each unit consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a sitting room, a kitchen, a dining area, a laundry room, and a storage room. Housing shortage is one of the biggest issues facing Dhidhdhoo. The island has a population of nearly 5,000 people. When applications were opened for these 75 housing units in Dhidhdhoo, the council reported that nearly 1,000 people submitted forms.

Previously, 250 housing units were built in Dhidhdhoo, which are currently occupied.
