Statistical data reveals that the transition to the new Criminal Court building has effectively addressed space constraints, leading to a 140% increase in case resolutions. While 1,062 cases were filed at the court last year, a total of 1,380 cases were successfully concluded, marking a 113% improvement compared to the figures from 2024.
Prior to the relocation, the court averaged 72 concluded cases per month; however, this figure has now significantly risen to 175 cases monthly. Within the bench of 11 judges, each judge concluded an average of 113 cases, with Judge Ali Nadeem presiding over the highest number of settlements. With the accelerated pace of judicial proceedings, the court remains optimistic that a permanent resolution to the issue of indefinite detention (the “Vanuva” remand issue) will be achieved within this year.
