Bank of Maldives has selected the associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that will receive this year’s Bank Fund. The Bank Fund was introduced last year, specifically for associations and NGOs that implement sustainable projects for community development and progress. BML has chosen five NGOs to receive the Bank Fund this year. They include Diabetes Society of Maldives, United Islamic Society, Foundation for Eydhafushi Youth Linkage, Maldives Nurses Association, and Tiny Hearts Maldives.
The assistance to Diabetes Society of Maldives is for establishing a clinic in Hulhumalé and expanding services related to disease prevention, early detection, and diabetes management, making them easily accessible to a wider population. United Islamic Society received assistance to establish a modern multimedia studio at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre in D. Kudahuvadhoo, aimed at enhancing students’ digital media skills, and to further strengthen the existing media club’s operations.

Foundation for Eydhafushi Youth Linkage (FAYLI) was selected to establish two integrated labs at B. Atoll Education Centre in B. Eydhafushi, for the development of vocational and creative skills. Maldives Nurses Association received assistance to introduce a specialized mental health service for residents in Hulhumalé Phase 2 and to establish a service that provides easy access to necessary support for those most affected by mental health issues. Tiny Hearts Maldives was assisted to establish a digital resource hub to promote heart health and physical well-being.
The Bank Fund is a grant of MVR 200,000 provided to each selected association or NGO from among those that apply for funding to implement projects in the areas of education, environment, sports, and community development. The bank places significant importance on projects implemented in various parts of the Maldives for community development.
