
Bank of Maldives has opened a branch in HDh. Nolhivaranfaru and launched ATM services. These services were officially inaugurated during the President’s ongoing trip to Haa Dhaalu Atoll. After launching the service, the President presented a commemorative bank card to the island council. BML stated that the ATM in Nolhivaranfaru will provide 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services for individuals and businesses, in addition to bill payment and transfer services.
The branch opened in Nolhivaranfaru is a BML Islamic branch. BML said that all banking services will be available through this branch. As part of the project jointly undertaken by the government and BML to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands in the Maldives, ATM services have now been established on all inhabited islands in 8 atolls. The most recent atoll to have ATM services fully implemented was Alif Alif Atoll. Including Alif Alif Atoll, the atolls where BML has established ATMs are Haa Alif, Shaviyani, Dhaalu, Noonu, Meemu, Kaafu, and Baa Atolls.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development, BML aims to complete the project of establishing ATMs on all inhabited islands across the Maldives within this year. The bank has stated that this project empowers island communities financially and brings economic progress to these islands.
