
Bank of Maldives has launched ATM services in Sh. Goidhoo. The ATM service in Goidhoo was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, at a special ceremony held on the island. The ceremony was attended by BML CEO Mohamed Shareef, senior bank officials, and members of the island council. To inaugurate the ATM service in Goidhoo, Minister Adam Shareef withdrew money from the ATM. BML also presented a commemorative plaque to the Goidhoo Council.
Speaking at the ATM service inauguration ceremony, Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar said that the government is working hard to alleviate various hardships faced by the people, such as difficulties in withdrawing money. The Minister noted that the work of establishing BML ATM services on all inhabited islands is progressing very quickly. He also highlighted and thanked President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the importance he attaches to establishing essential services for the people.
Speaking at the ceremony, BML CEO Mohamed Shareef said that important services such as cash withdrawals, deposits, and loan repayments will be available 24 hours a day with the ATM. The CEO highlighted some of the ongoing efforts to improve services in addition to establishing ATMs. He noted that they have now started offering loans for guesthouse construction without collateral. The ATM installed in Goidhoo is a self-service ATM that provides 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services. To start ATM services on all islands of Shaviyani Atoll, it has been arranged to launch the service on 10 islands in this round. With this, the service will be established on all islands of the atoll.
As part of the project carried out jointly by Bank of Maldives and the government to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives, ATM services have already been launched on all inhabited islands of Ha. Atoll, Dh. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Bank of Maldives aims to launch ATM services on more than 100 islands this year.
