BML ATM service launched in Lhaimagu

Bank of Maldives has launched its ATM service in Lhaimagu, Shaviyani Atoll. The ATM service in Lhaimagu was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, at a special ceremony held on the island. The ceremony was attended by BML CEO Mohamed Shareef, senior bank officials, and members of the island council. To mark the launch of the ATM service in Lhaimagu, Minister Adam Shareef withdrew money from the ATM. After inaugurating the ATM, BML presented a symbolic card to the Lhaimagu Council.

Speaking at the ATM service launch ceremony, Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar said that President Muizzu places special importance on making life easier for the people. He stated that in this regard, special efforts are being made to facilitate matters for the public in collaboration with various government agencies and companies. The Minister said that launching ATM services on all inhabited islands is one such effort. The ATM installed in Lhaimagu is a self-service ATM that provides 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services.

As part of launching ATM services on all islands of Shaviyani Atoll, 10 islands are scheduled to receive the service in this round, with services already established on 5 islands as of yesterday. By the end of this round, ATM services will be established on all islands of this atoll. As part of the project jointly undertaken by Bank of Maldives and the government to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives, services have already been launched on all inhabited islands of Ha Atoll, Dhaalu Atoll, Noonu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, and Kaafu Atoll.

Bank of Maldives aims to install ATMs on more than 100 islands within this year.
