The establishment of a Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM service in H.A. Utheemu has been handed over to the island council. The government inaugurated the project to provide BML ATM services to all parts of the Maldives on November 7th last year. Under this project, BML has also announced tenders for ATM procurement. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu participated in the agreement signing ceremony during his ongoing trip to H.A. Atoll islands.

The agreement for installing the ATM was signed on behalf of BML by the bank’s CEO, Mohamed Shareef. On behalf of Utheemu Council, the agreement was signed by Council President Abdullah Rasheed. Previously, cash withdrawal services in this island were provided through an agent. The government’s target is to install a BML ATM on every island in the Maldives by the end of this year. Currently, BML has established 190 ATMs across the Maldives, and BML’s goal is to establish more than 250 ATMs in the country before the end of next year.
