Barcelona has returned to the top of the Spanish La Liga standings following a convincing 3-0 victory against Oviedo.
With this win, Barcelona now leads the table with 52 points from 21 matches, narrowly overtaking their rivals Real Madrid, who currently sit in second place with 51 points.
The match, played at Spotify Camp Nou in front of a crowd of over 44,000 spectators, remained goalless in the first half. However, the deadlock was broken just seven minutes into the second half when Dani Olmo found the back of the net to give the hosts the lead.
Raphinha doubled the advantage in the 57th minute, scoring only five minutes after the opening goal. The victory was then sealed by Lamine Yamal, who converted a pass from Dani Olmo to score Barcelona’s third goal of the match.
This result marks the tenth consecutive home win for Barcelona under the guidance of manager Hansi Flick. The club last achieved such a feat at their home stadium in 2019.
