In light of the upcoming general elections in Bangladesh scheduled for February 12th, the Bangladeshi government has decided to temporarily suspend on-arrival visa services for all international travelers.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, the suspension will be effective from the 15th of this month until the 15th of next month. This decision has been implemented as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen security measures across the country during the election period.

The Ministry urges Maldivian citizens planning to travel to Bangladesh during this duration to obtain the necessary visas prior to their departure through the High Commission of Bangladesh in the Maldives. The Ministry further advises that visa applications be submitted to the High Commission’s office located in Hulhumalé.

The Bangladesh High Commission is currently situated at Plot 10982, Goalhi 16, Niroalhu Magu, Hulhumalé. For further inquiries regarding visa services, the Ministry directs travelers to contact the Commission at 3320859 or via email at [email protected].

Additionally, the Ministry’s statement notes that further details regarding on-arrival visa regulations can be accessed through the official link designated by the Government of Bangladesh.
