Bangladesh Military Training Aircraft Crashes on School Grounds

A training aircraft of the Bangladesh military has crashed on the grounds of a school in the northern part of the country, killing one person and injuring many others, the Bangladesh military announced. The aircraft crashed onto the grounds of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Bangladesh. At the time of the incident, some students were taking an examination there, while others were in their classrooms. Videos circulating show scenes of fire and thick smoke in the area where the plane crashed. Some news reports indicate that a significant number of the 20 people taken to hospital with injuries were students from the school.

In a brief statement issued by the Bangladesh military, it was confirmed that the crashed aircraft was an F-7 BGI model Air Force jet. An official from the Bangladesh Fire Department confirmed that one person was killed and four others were injured in the incident. However, no further details were provided.
