In preparation for this year’s holy month of Ramadan, the State Trading Organization (STO) is making extensive arrangements to ensure a consistent supply of 23 essential food items in the market. This stock includes staple foods, as well as frequently consumed items such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, and onions. To enhance its service delivery, the company is also working towards opening a new outlet in Hulhumalé Phase 1 and relocating its wholesale center to the Industrial Village. Furthermore, the government has formulated plans to distribute these goods through STO agents in more populated islands to stabilize market prices and prevent inflation. The government’s primary objective is to lower wholesale prices and facilitate easy access to goods for the public through small businesses.
