
In the first match of the HDh. Atoll in the BML Atoll Championship 2025/26, Kulhudhuffushi City made a good start by defeating Nellaidhoo. The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has structured the Atoll Championship to create opportunities for teams to advance to the First Division. The country has been divided into four zones: North Region includes HA, HDh, Sh, N, R, B, and Lh atolls; Central Region includes K, AA, ADh, V, M, F, and Dh atolls; South Region includes Th, L, GA, GDh, Thinadhoo, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City; and the Male’ Region, which consists of Second and Third Division clubs.
When the Atoll Championship match began this evening, Kulhudhuffushi defeated Nellaidhoo with a score of 4-2 in the HDh. Atoll. Kulhudhuffushi displayed excellent performance from the start, taking the lead in the 12th minute. Mohamed Shifan scored this goal from a corner taken by Mohamed Munsif. Four minutes later, Kulhudhuffushi extended their lead with a goal from foreign player Shenal Sandesh. Before the end of the first half, Kulhudhuffushi scored their third goal in the 36th minute through Mohamed Anoos Adam.
Kulhudhuffushi scored their fourth goal in the first minute of the second half, with Shifan finding the net for his second goal of the match. However, five minutes later, Nellaidhoo managed to score their first goal. Ismail Waheed converted a free kick delivered into the area. With nine minutes remaining in the match, Nellaidhoo scored their second goal from a penalty kick taken by Mohamed Nishah. This penalty was awarded after Hussain Ahmed of Kulhudhuffushi fouled Nellaidhoo’s captain Mohamed Aslam inside the area. While Kulhudhuffushi won the first match of the HDh. Atoll in the Atoll Championship, this atoll consists of four teams: Kulhudhuffushi, Nellaidhoo, Nolhivaram, and Hanimaadhoo.
