Bank of Maldives has launched its ATM service in Narudhoo, Shaviyani Atoll. The ATM service in Narudhoo was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, at a ceremony held on the island. The ceremony was attended by BML’s CEO Mohamed Shareef, senior bank officials, and members of the island council. To mark the launch of the ATM service in Narudhoo, Minister Adam Shareef withdrew money from the ATM.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the ATM service, Minister of State for Cities and Administrative Areas and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, said that since President Muizzu took office, he has been working on many initiatives to alleviate various difficulties faced by the people. He noted that within a short period, ATMs have been installed in islands, and banking services are being provided easily with the cooperation of BML’s leadership. The Minister also highlighted the efforts of BML’s current management in establishing ATM services on islands, which are essential for the people.
A self-service ATM that provides 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services has been installed in Narudhoo. As part of the initiative to launch ATM services in all islands of Shaviyani Atoll, services are scheduled to be launched on 10 islands in this phase, with services already established on 5 islands as of yesterday. By the end of this phase, ATM services will be established on all islands in this atoll.
As part of the project jointly carried out by Bank of Maldives and the government to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives, ATM services have already been launched on all inhabited islands of Ha. Atoll, Dh. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Bank of Maldives aims to install ATMs on more than 100 islands within this year.
