
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the ATM service in Goidhoo, South Maalhosmadulu Atoll. This is the 46th island where ATM service has been established under the project to install ATMs on every inhabited island in the Maldives. Establishing ATM services on all inhabited islands is a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. In line with the President’s promise, BML has begun work to establish ATM services on 100 new islands this year.

During his trip to South Maalhosmadulu Atoll, the President visited Goidhoo and launched the ATM service on the island. To inaugurate the ATM service, he withdrew money from the ATM. After launching the service, he presented a commemorative bank card to the Island Council. Ahmed Irshad, the President of the Goidhoo Council, received the card on behalf of the council.
BML stated that the self-service ATM installed in Goidhoo will provide 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services for individuals and businesses, in addition to bill payment and transfer services. Furthermore, the bank said that credit card and loan payment services will also be available through this ATM. Under the project jointly carried out by the government and BML to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands in the Maldives, ATM services have been launched on all inhabited islands in 6 atolls so far. These include Ha. Atoll, Sh. Atoll, Dh. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Additionally, with this ATM, BML said there will be more than 250 ATMs in the BML banking network covering the entire Maldives.
BML stated that the government and BML have jointly initiated the work of establishing ATM services on islands with special emphasis to provide various banking services to the public conveniently and accessibly.
