
The Palestinian Ambassador has expressed gratitude for the Maldives’ consistent support for Palestinian rights. The Non-Resident Ambassador of Palestine to the Maldives, Ihab Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil, highlighted this during the ceremony held today to present his credentials to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. For the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador Ihab Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil proceeded from the Republic Square to the President’s Office in an official carriage, accompanied by a ceremonial guard of honor, with drums and trumpets, and a contingent of cultural performers.
Upon presenting his credentials to the President, the new Palestinian Ambassador was congratulated by the President. The Ambassador acknowledged and appreciated the Maldives’ steadfast support for Palestinian rights. He also emphasized the importance of the Maldives continuing to raise its voice for Palestinian rights in the international arena.
During the ceremony, the President assured that the Maldives would remain steadfast in advocating for Palestinian rights. Both officials expressed interest in further strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Palestine were established on April 4, 1982.
