
Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto is designed to address the concerns of fishermen. The Minister noted that significant efforts have been made over the past two years to resolve many long-standing concerns of the fishing community. Speaking at the Fishermen’s Forum held in conjunction with Fishermen’s Day, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, affirmed that the government is undertaking numerous crucial initiatives to advance the fisheries industry. He reiterated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto is specifically designed to provide solutions to the concerns of fishermen.
“There are still many issues that need to be resolved. God willing, the President’s manifesto is one that will provide solutions to all problems within the fisheries industry. We are continuously working towards that goal,” the Minister stated.
Minister Shiyam noted that fishermen share their concerns with the Ministry, and efforts are underway to address these issues. He assured that the Ministry would work even more closely with the fishing community. Coinciding with this year’s Fishermen’s Day celebration in R. Dhuvaafaru, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu visited the island and held a Fishermen’s Forum with stakeholders working in the fisheries industry.
