During the meetings held as part of this visit, discussions focused on the Maldives’ economic and financial landscape, as well as the financing requirements for climate action. The OPEC Fund reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Small Island Developing States (SIDS), such as the Maldives, through its dedicated SIDS Initiative and the Green-Blue Connect Program.
According to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, the newly signed framework will serve as a strategic roadmap for future collaboration with the OPEC Fund. This partnership is expected to provide vital support in building a resilient and sustainable economy capable of overcoming emerging challenges.
